Is it strange for someone to still be kidnapped after a whole month? Arthur's been gone for so long.

[He sighs. There's rustling of paper and Merlin eyes Fina's notes with great trepidation. He cannot understand why he has not had some measure of success with them. They were so charmingly written, so thoughtfully recorded. He sighs for a second time.]

Fina, you know that thing? I'm still having no luck. Perhaps I need a little more assistance.

[ooc; he's taken but after Fina comments feel free to troll him anyway, hear him sing his praises of the beautiful, magical lady of his heart!]

The two of you are meant to be together then. Tied together.

We are the last two remnants of our civilization. [ Three, if you count Ramirez, but alas he is kidnapped with Arthur and dead back in her time. ] I... never thought about it like that.

It's like Arthur and me. [He slows up, falling back in step beside Fina and looking over at her.] We've got a shared destiny.

A shared destiny?

Arthur is supposed to turn into a great king, but he needs my help to get there.

[ Fina wonders about that. It sounds so familiar. ] ... What kind of help?

[His face turns stoic.] I use my...abilities to keep him safe. Without him finding out, of course.

Your magic...

If Arthur knew, he would be incredibly angry. But we can't help destiny.

But... if you explain to him that you are using them to make sure he becomes a wonderful King, wouldn't he understand? There.. shouldn't be any secrets between friends.

He hates magic, Fina. And I'm not sure if Arthur would even consider me a friend, to be honest.

But... you're trying so hard to rescue him when some people... [ Herself included, she thinks with a selfish knot forming in her abdomen. ] ... some people are just content to wait until they come back. I.. don't know Arthur that well, but if he knew, then I'm sure...

I'll introduce you to him when he comes back, and then perhaps you'll see what I mean. He's not the tolerant kind.

[But that's a rubbish subject. So he reaches out to take Fina's hand and lead her off the beaten path, and into the forest.]

I'll look forward to finally meeting him.

[ She turns red as he takes her hand and lets him lead her into the forest. ]

[He pulls her gently towards him, aiming them towards the forest.]

I'm sure he'll be enchanted by you.

[ Fina isn't one to argue with him even though she is confused as they stray further towards the forest. Wait, the spirits, of course! How silly of her. ]

I-I'm not so sure about that...

What? Of course he'll like you. Believe me, Fina. You're fantastic.

F-Fantastic...? Um.. I think you are too, Merlin.

I am a bit, aren't I? Now and then. When Arthur's not looking. [He walks backwards, keeping his eyes joyously fixed on Fina.]

[ She smiles and looks away shyly. ]

Maybe he's jealous.

[He...smiles. Oh, it was a kind thing to say. Even if he didn't quite believe it.]

It's probably something else. But the thought is nice.

Where are we going...?

A clearing that I found, a few days ago. It's very peaceful, there.

It sounds nice.. especially if we're going together...

[ Fina, he could take you to a wrestling match and you'll still find it nice. ]

That's not even the half of it. Just...wait till you get there. It's not far, now.
