[With a clearing of his throat, Merlin addresses the journal system.]

Perhaps...I am not really cut out to be a knight. Although, it'd be nice to get some of the recognition. A knight is never stuck serving breakfast.

[There's a quiet, longing look as Merlin looks "off screen" towards Arthur's abandoned sword. Knights, after all, had so much more of an acceptable heroism.]

Miss Fina, could I request an audience with you? It's about--err--what we talked about, last time. I could use some help.

[Merlin is shown drawing a palm across his face. He grumbles.] Arthur's still not back.

Really. [He nods, grinning.]

[ Cupil seems pleased about being described that way and Fina giggles as he begins to orbit overhead happily. ]

... Oh! You must be cold, um... [ She takes a step backwards to allow him to come into the house. ]

Just a bit. [He steps in, stomping the snow off his boots before he does so.]

Glad to see you up and moving, Fina.

[ Minato will be pleased. ]

Yes, I'm feeling a lot better now my wing has grown back. I'm sorry if I worried you...

You shouldn't be apologizing. [He smiles, rather indulgently. And then--oh!

He bends down and begins the curious ritual of removing ones footwear. Kind of irrational, if you asked him. You only took your boots off to sleep. Perhaps to have a bath. In Camelot, the floor was usually dirtier than your boots.]

I'm... um, I've been told I apologize too much.

[ Fina ducks her head in humilation as she steps aside to close the door while he takes off his boots so ~~Emperor Minato of Prejudice Land won't throw a hissy fit upstairs~~ the carpet won't be further sullied after what occurred during the blizzard. She glances at the wizard once she does this and links her hands together in front of her. ]

Can I get you anything? Tea?

Tea? [He asks in a way that clearly suggests he has no idea what tea is.]

[ Fina blinks and tilts her head in consideration when Merlin asks that. This must have been what Vyse or Aika felt like when she was the one who asked them a question like this one and begins to explain it to the best of her ability: ]

Um... it's a drink, made out of leaves and leaf buds in boiling hot water. It should warm you up too.

[A drink? He considers it with a nod.] Alright. I'll give it a go.

[ Fina smiles and nods. ] Okay. Please, feel free to make yourself comfortable.

[ And with that, she heads to the kitchen to make tea for the both of them... and where the sound of birds tweeting shrilly at her entrance erupts shortly after. ]

[Actually...Merlin attempts to follow. After all, he wants to learn how to make this.

But just as he steps into the kitchen after her--] Whoa, what was that?

[ Fina looks over her shoulder at Merlin from the pantry, where there is a flurry of movement from inside consisting of light grey and blue wings flapping amidst the birds tweeting sharply at her, as she takes a step backwards from the store cupboard while holding the pot of tea leaves in two hands. ]

It's just Tori-san's children.. they can get a little agitated when they are startled, but they'll settle in a moment. [ She adds a little more quietly as her head inclines to the side in thoughtfulness. ] They are very protective of their mother these days.

Torisan? [He misunderstands the honorific, but listens to the chirping.] You have a bird?

[ Fina does not particularly understand the honorific's either; except for the fact Minato has stopped calling her "-san" after what happened in the blizzard and bridging what gap remained between the two of them after Aigis left. But to all extent and purposes, she believes that Tori-san is his full name, and she nods in response. ]

We found a nest in there one day, so now they share the house with us.

[Sharing a house with birds by choice is something that escapes Merlin's comprehension; however, he takes it as a testament to Fina's sweetness and charity. Fine elements of any lady of quality.]

That's...very good of you, I suppose. [He nods thoughtfully towards the chirping.]

[ She smiles at Merlin shyly when he says that, oblivious to his hick-like instincts of cooking the family of birds in their pantry and closes the door on their cheeping. Sure enough, the din gives away after a few minutes as they settle in the darkness again, and Fina places the jar of tea on the side and instead concentrates about warming up the stove in order to boil the water. ]

[He leans forward on a counter, smiling.]

It's amazing, all of these things that you have. Stoves, for example. Back home we had a roasting pit.

[ Fina looks over as he leans over. She misunderstands his roasting pot as being one the Blue Rogues used over a camp fire shortly after securing Crescent Isle as their base. ]

Really? It must take you a long time to cook for everyone...

The kitchens cook. I just serve the stuff. [But he freezes after the admission rolls so casually out of him.]

You just... serve the food?

What? Oh. Me? Serve the food? S-sometimes. [He nods emphatically.] Sometimes, I serve it to Arthur. Because he trusts me. Yes.

Does Arthur not trust many other people? [ Fina looks curious. ] Um.. he must trust you a lot if he insists that only you brings him his meals.

He's the prince. There aren't many that he can trust. So he needs me...to make sure his food is safe--[by bringing it to Arthur from the kitchens]--to make sure he's protected in battle--[by looking after his armour between jousts]--helping him with his horses--[by mucking out the stable.]

[ Fina looks overwhelmed by that list. One thing stands out the most though: ]

... What's a horse?

You...don't know what a horse is.

[He just looks at her, amused.]
